SFMAI: Society For Martial Arts Instruction

At SFMAI, the Ken Wa Kan Karate Program, each child is encouraged to succeed in every aspect of the class to the best of their ability, and progress is acknowledged with a promotion in rank (white - black belt). Karate practice develops whole body-brain integration. It teaches negotiation and leadership skills, and builds concentration, self-esteem, balance, strength, flexibility and endurance.

SFMAI picks up from PS41 every day of the school week.  From Monday to Friday, children aged 5 to 10 can take an introductory class "White Tiger" from 3:45 until 4:30pm.  On Mon/Wed/Fri, intermediate level children can take the "Red Phoenix" class from 4:30 until 5:15pm.  On Tues/Thurs, the most advanced students can take the "Green Dragon/Black Turtle" class from 4:15 until 5:15pm.
