PS41 wants all parents to be active and engaged partners in their children’s education. We encourage and welcome positive, respectful communication between parents, teachers and staff.
The Parent Coordinator position was created to be the front line in facilitating communication between parents, teachers, and staff. The PS41 Parent Coordinator is Michele Farinet (MFarinet@schools.nyc.gov)
The Parent Coordinator is available to 41 families for drop-in meetings, as well as appointments if you would like to schedule one. Please bring any concerns, questions, or issues to her attention —and she will direct you through the proper channels for the best resolution to the situation.
At PS41, we are a cooperative community. It is not always necessary to see the Principal about a concern or issue. The first point of contact is typically the teacher, a guidance counselor or the Parent Coordinator. If necessary, the Principal or one of the Assistant Principals will be brought in.
A seamless transition between home and school is a great advantage to children, parents or guardians, and teachers. One of the PTA’s goals is to bring the parent body together as a community and to keep you informed of all that is going on at PS41. The Parent Coordinator, the PTA and the Class Parents use emails and our website to keep you informed of important class events, PTA meeting dates, fundraising events, volunteer opportunities, school closing reminders, school trip updates and more! In keeping with our commitment to the environment, PS41 relies on electronic communication as much as possible. When a memo is sent home that requires a signature, please sign and return it immediately.
